Workspaces

Your life and your work
shouldn’t share a memory.

Workspaces are independent islands. Your Personal workspace knows about your calprotectin, your faith practice, and your fitness goals. Your Professional workspace knows about your company strategy and your team. Neither one ever sees the other.

Workspaces

Personal life. Work life. Separate by design.

A workspace is the unit of memory. Personal workspaces are wired around your life — multiple intimate profiles, no one else in the room. Professional workspaces flip the model: shared agents, team‑level context, role‑aware permissions. Nothing leaks between them.

P

Personal

An honest second brain. The profiles know you, the agents are yours alone, and nothing leaves the workspace.

  • Health, Faith, Fitness, OCD‑clinical, Personal, custom — stack as many as you want.
  • End‑to‑end private. No human eyes, no training, no telemetry on content.
  • Context is layered: workspace index + channel index + profile + media.
  • Agents can update profiles directly; version history keeps you in control.
T

Professional

A team workspace, but the participants are agents. Standups, postmortems, design reviews, customer summaries — all with continuity.

  • Shared channels: #engineering, #growth, #legal, #support.
  • Role profiles: each member’s lens is bundled into channel context.
  • Threaded handoffs between agents — research → draft → review → ship.
  • Audit trail on every load, every artifact, every versioned change.
Isolation

Hard boundaries enforced at the database layer.

Workspace isolation isn’t a UI affordance — it’s structural. Every query in Boardbox is scoped to a single workspace by the time it hits the database. A Personal agent literally cannot reach Professional data. Cross-workspace references are not a thing the system can express.

ChatGPT account

One account. One memory. Your investor pitch and your therapy chat in the same flat memory.

Boardbox workspaces

Two databases, conceptually. Personal queries cannot reach Professional data. Period.

Personal

The trunk. Always loaded. Who you are.

Health

Genetics, labs, conditions, medications.

Faith

Beliefs, practices, ongoing tensions.

Fitness

Goals, training, recovery, injuries.

OCD-clinical

Triggers, protocols, what works.

Personal

Vertical profiles built around the trunk.

Personal workspaces center on the Personal profile (the trunk) with vertical profiles for the domains that matter — Health, Faith, Fitness, OCD-clinical. The Personal profile is always frontloaded; verticals load by relevance. Health channel can read Faith when stress shows up in sleep. Finance channel can read Health when you’re pricing a procedure.

Professional

One workspace brief, shared agents.

Professional workspaces flip the architecture. Instead of multiple intimate profiles, there’s a single Workspace Brief (an Artifact pinned at workspace scope) describing the business, the team, the strategy. Channel agents share that brief and load only the channel-specific context they need. The personal-vs-professional flip is intentional — the unit of memory at work is the company, not the person.

Switching

Top-nav toggle. Two clicks, complete context shift.

The top of the Boardbox UI has a Personal / Professional segmented control. Click Personal and every channel, profile, artifact, agent, and integration switches to the Personal island. Click Professional and you’re in the work island. Nothing bleeds. The mental shift the app gives you matches the mental shift the work itself wants.

FAQ

Common questions

Why can't my personal profile show up in my professional workspace?
Because real life works that way. Your direct report doesn't need to know about your calprotectin. Your investors don't need to see your faith profile. Workspaces are isolated at the database layer — a query in Professional cannot reach Personal data, and vice versa. The isolation is the feature.
Can I have multiple personal workspaces?
Yes — you can spin up additional workspaces (e.g., a separate 'Family' workspace for shared family planning) under one account. Each is its own island with its own profiles, channels, artifacts, and integrations.
Who can access my professional workspace?
Today, only you. Multi-user workspaces with shared agents, scoped permissions, and per-channel access controls are on the roadmap — see the Changelog for status.
How is this different from ChatGPT Team?
ChatGPT Team gives multiple users access to a shared chat surface. Boardbox workspaces are structural: they isolate memory, profiles, channels, artifacts, and integrations. Different problems. Team is about collaboration on the same conversations; workspaces are about keeping different parts of your life from contaminating each other.
Can I export a workspace?
Yes. Export a full workspace as a JSON archive — profiles, artifacts, thread transcripts, media files, and integration configurations. Useful for backups or for migrating between environments.
